New Foster Care Director

Please join us in welcoming Carrie Wallace-Onifade, MSW as Director of Foster Care & Adoption (Joliet and South Suburbs Regions) to the Little City Team!  Carrie is joining the team with over 20 years’ experience in child welfare and counseling.  She has worked as a foster care case manager, licensing worker, therapist, supervisor, and director.  Most recently, Carrie served as the director of LSSI’s foster care services in Aurora, Illinois.

Carrie has a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and Master’s degrees in Human Resources and Social Work.
Carrie remarked, “I am glad to be a part of the Little City Team and I am looking forward to establishing and developing my teams to promote the growth of Little City’s foster care programs.”

Carrie’s supervisor, Emily Rawsky, MSW, Deputy Program Officer of In-Home and Family Services, shares Carrie’s excitement to have her join our team with the focus of expanding the foster care and adoption program’s footprint and impact in the South Suburbs and Joliet.  She stated, “Carrie’s human resources and clinical lens, coupled with her years of leadership experience will help Little City carry-out our mission of serving vulnerable youth and their families in the least restrictive environments of their own homes and communities, while building and sustaining a team aligned with the agency’s values.”

Between now and June 2022, Carrie is anticipated to have three direct reports, who are Foster Care & Adoption Supervisors, 15 case managers, and approximately 150 cases anticipated to transfer into the agency in primarily Cook and Will counties from another organization that is divesting of their foster care operations.

Carrie’s hobbies include attending concerts, going out to eat, and traveling to zoos around the world.
